Obituary of Archibald Anthony Flooks

The death of Archibald Flooks of Saint John, husband of the late Margaret (Connor) Flooks occurred on Friday, February 13, 2015, at Ridgewood Veterans Wing. Born in Tracadie-Sheila on May 29, 1922, he was the son of the late Harry and Beatrice (Jones) Flooks. Archie was a proud veteran who served during World War II with the Canadian Merchant Navy. Upon leaving the Merchant Navy, Archie had a long working career with the school board as a stationary engineer. In his later years, he enjoyed crafting and always looked forward to his next project. He will be sadly missed. Archie is survived by his son, James Flooks (Rose Vicars) of Saint John; daughters, Cindy Flooks (Orven) of Fredericton and Karen Flooks-Pang (Patrick) of Montreal; sister, Edna Titus of Saint John; grandchildren, Wayde, Angela, Little Karen, Nicolas, Corrina, Jennifer, Lynn and Peter; great-grandchildren, Christa, Sara Lee, Joey, Jesse, Madison, Ryan and Lilly; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Archie was also predeceased by brothers, Ronnie, Tommy and Billy Flooks as well as sisters, Bernadette LeBlanc and Irene Milberry. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Legion Tribute will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
