Obituary of Laura Mae Bennett

It is with great sadness that the family of Laura Mae Bennett announces her passing, which occurred on Friday, April 3, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born on October 23, 1927 in Eatonville Nova Scotia and was a daughter of the late Robert and Gladys Robinson. Laura had many hobbies and talents. She enjoyed country music, cooking, knitting, painting, playing the steel guitar and watching classic movies. She had a green thumb and had a love for birds and cats. She also had a love for the ocean, being born near Spicer’s Cove, NS She will be dearly missed by the large family she left behind, her children; Threasa Henwood (Charlie) of Eastern Passage, NS, Geneva Bennett of Advocate, NS, Wayne Bennett (Elaine) of Baxter's Corner, NB, Loretta Bennett of Saint John, NB, William Bennett (Marilyn) of St. George, NB and Larry Bennett of Canal, NB, her grandchildren; Laura Henwood of Mississauga, ON, Sher Acheson (Brian Donnelly) of Oak Haven, NB, Linnet Martin (Pat) of Saint John, NB, Candace Linton (Chad) of St. Stephen, NB, Theresa Waring (Jody) of Saint John, NB, Gary Bennett of Ottawa, ON, Lisa Bennett of Saint John, NB, Christopher Bennett (Darcie) of Upper Golden Grove, Timothy Bennett of Saint John, NB, Robert Bennett of Baxter's Corner, Martha Bennett (Scott Martin) of Baxter's Corner, George Bennett of St. George, NB, and Rebecca Bennett of St. George, NB, her great grandchildren; Adrian, Brandon, Chace, Damien, Isabelle, Jacob, Paige and William, her sisters Robina Crossman and Margaret Bennett, Sisters-in-law; Beatrice Robinson, Berna Robinson, Muriel (the late Donald) Bennett, and brother-in-law; Hughie Bennett (Ardis), many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Howard Bennett, sons; Gary Bennett, Gerald Bennett, Robert Bennett and daughter, Baby Rhonda Bennett, brothers; George Robinson, and Hartley Robinson, sister Alice Corbin and many Bennett in-laws. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424 where there will be visitation held on Monday, April 6 from 2-4 and 6-8. A celebration of Laura’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 7 at 12:00pm from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Fraserville Cemetery in Nova Scotia at a later date.
