Obituary of Vasiliki Mandrapilias

Vasiliki Mandrapilias passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Turnbull Nursing Home. Born on July 27, 1921 in Sparta, Greece she was a daughter of the late George and Areti (Papadakos) Xiropodis. Vasiliki immigrated to Saint John, NB in 1966 to be with her children. Vasiliki was a hard working and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who always made sure the home was filled with love, affection and support, Chip’s Ahoy cookies and 7-Up. Surviving are her children, Dimitra (Elias "Louie") Petrakos, Saint John; Tasia (Nick) Eleftheriou, Saint John; grandchildren, Vasilios "Bill" (Reiko) Petrakos, Vasiliki "Kiki" (Serge) Petrakos, Litsa Petrakos, Konstantinos (Becky) Petrakos, Maria (Tor) Eleftheriou and George (Roula) Eleftheriou; great grandchildren, Niki Petrakos, Ruby Petrakos, Elias Petrakos, Ariadne Brodkorb, Julien Carle- Trouillard and Mathilde Carle-Trouillard. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Louis, her sisters Elene, Voula and brothers, Stavros and Konstantinos. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). There will be visitation on Thursday, December 17 from 2-4 and 7-9. The funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Chapel at 2:30 pm on Friday, December 18, 2015. Donations in Vasiliki’s memory can be made to the Turnbull Nursing Home or a charity of one’s choice. The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to the caregivers at Turnbull Nursing Home for their wonderful care.
