Obituary of Jessica Stacey Black

It is with profound sadness and loss that Jessica’s family announce her sudden passing on November 1st 2015 at the Calgary Foothills Hospital, Calgary, AB. Formerly of Long Reach, She was born in Fredericton, NB March 17th 1990. Jessica, (Jesse to her family), will be cherished and remembered for her dazzling smile that lit up our lives and her optimistic straight forward approach to the challenges and opportunities life sent her way. She spent her youth in Oromocto, NB and graduated from Oromocto High school in 2008. Jessica moved to Long Reach NB with her mother after high school and began work, mostly in the food service industry. She worked at a youth camp, along with restaurants and pubs in the Saint John area learning her craft before moving to Calgary to explore new opportunities. She worked and thrived in a large downtown Calgary pub and enjoyed the fast pace and camaraderie she found there. She also took advantage of the mountains and outdoor life to be had in the west, and even found ways to get out on the water as she had loved to do in the east. She was anything but a fair weather sailor. Jessica was a positive and determined individual, in the middle of creating a wonderful life for herself and her family in Alberta. She was a fabulous and devoted mother and friend to Noah, and a spirited and loving partner to Andy Lee. She will be missed and remembered fondly by all she knew and touched, with friends from coast to coast. Besides her son Noah Black, she is survived by her mother, Shelley Black Belyea, step father Tim Belyea, grandparents George and Mary Ellen Black, aunt Stacey (Rob) Black, sister Roxanne Sweeney, step sister Madisyn Belyea, step brother Mitchell Belyea, cousins Rory and Emma Chadwick. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (849-2119) There will be no visitation. A celebration of Jessica’s life will take place at The Kingston Trinity Anglican Church in Kingston NB at 2:00 PM Saturday November 7th 2015. Donations can be made to First Steps Housing Project, 120 Coburg St. Saint John, NB E2L 3K1 (506) 693-2228 or to a charity of your choice in her memory.
