Obituary of Joan Doreen Stone

It is with great sadness that the family of Joan Doreen Stone announce her passing on May 17, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 7, 1949 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Audrey (Hayman) and Fred Edwards. Joan was a retired nurse and an active member of the Dazzling Dame Red Hat Group. Surviving are her children Penny Stone (Wayne Nichols), Middle Sackville; Patrick (Linda) Stone and Jeffrey (Mandi Gray) both of Saint John; brothers, Fred (Michelle) Edwards and Tony (Kim) Edwards, both of Saint John; sisters Nancy (Arthur) Arnburg; Judy (Tony) Bamford, Saint John; Diane (Eldon) O’Connor, Saint John and Donna (Gary) Shannon; Saint John; grandchildren Shawna Buote-Stone, Emiley Buote-Stone, Haley Buote-Stone, Colton Gray, Tori Jean Gray, Raya Stone, Tyler Morgan, Macey Gray, Haylee Gray, Alyssa Nichols and Kayla Nichols. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her grandson Neema "Josh" Barati. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424). Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 20 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 21 at 10 am from Brenan’s Chapel. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the SPCA - Animal Rescue League.
