Obituary of Helen Mary Martin

Helen Mary Martin of Saint John, wife of the late Peter R. Martin, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Rocmaura Nursing Home, in her 100th year. Born in Legaceville, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late Stanislas and Ida (Gautreau) Roussel. Helen was known as a hard-working mother, who enjoyed cooking, gardening, and sewing. In her later years, Helen enjoyed bird watching and television game shows, especially Jeopardy. Helen is survived by her children, Raymond Martin (Della) of the Kingston Peninsula, Blondine Baribault of Saint John, Elmer Martin (Barb) of Rothesay, Elva McLean (Seward) of Waterville, NS, and Gerald Martin (Kimberly) of Saint John; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a half sister, Louise Robichaud of Legaceville; and several nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by a son, Gerald (age 13), a son Norman; twin daughters Ann and Marie; and several siblings and half siblings. Although there will be no visitation time, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 12:00 Noon from Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
