Obituary of Marguerite Delphine Bond

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Marguerite Bond, wife of the late James C. Bond, which occurred on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Bobby’s Hospice. She was born on June 29, 1929 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia to the late Jean Baptiste Leforte of Bidart, France and Mary Louise Detcheverry of St. Pierre et Miquelon, France. Marguerite is survived by her 10 children: Gary E. (Betty) Hiltz, Paula M. (John) Patterson, Donna F. (Harold) Armstrong, Valerie J. (Laurie) Moody, Cindy H. (Brent) MacDonald, Jamie L. (Paul) Dempsey, Allan K. Bond, Kimberly H. Bond, Sheryl A. (John) Gray, and Michelle L. (Robert) French, her 13 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, her brother Charles, and two sisters: Theresa McKinnon and Alice McLaughlin of Glace Bay, NS along with many members of her extended family. Besides her parents and husband James, Marguerite is predeceased by eight brothers. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers, Kim McLeod, Bernice Gerard and her good friends Thelma Edgett, Lloyd Sherwood, Christa, Henry Peisner and Pauline Walker. Also a special thanks to Bobby’s Hospice and Palliative Care at the Saint John Regional Hospital for the wonderful care and support and to Dr. Gavin Langille, Dr. Elaine Davies, Dr. Julia Wildish, Dr. Chris O’Brien and Extra Mural care. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424) and at the request Marguerite, there will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, September 11 at 2 PM. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
