Obituary of Jeannine Marie Morton

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jeannine Marie Morton, loving wife of 37 years to David Morton, announce her passing which occurred on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born July 14, 1946 to the late Arthur and Marcella (Lavigne) Poirier. Jeannine was first and foremost a mother. Her three boys were her world and she would have done anything for them. She loved animals almost as much as her family and it broke her heart when her beloved dog Dusty passed away two months ago. Jeannine enjoyed relaxing with Dave at their trailer at Cumberland Bay. She loved her garden and listening to country music. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Jeannine is survived by her loving family, her husband David, her sons: Yvon , Maurice (Debbie) and Marcel Landry, her 4 grandchildren, her siblings: Angie (Ron) Schmidt, Gerald (Paulette), Romeo (Brenda), Germain, Lionel (Linda) and Danny Poirier along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Jeannine is predeceased by her sister Blanche LaBelle, brother Charles Poirier, in-laws John and Margaret Morton and her loving companion Dusty. The family would like to extend their heartfelt "Thanks" to all of the staff at 3BS, Palliative Care Unit, for the kindness and compassion they have shown to Jeannine during her stay. It will not be forgotten. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424) with visitation being held on Sunday, August 16 from 2-4 and 6-8. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 17 at 2pm from Brenan’s Chapel. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the SPCA- Animal Rescue.
