Obituary of Patricia W. Hannah

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Patricia W. Hannah (nee Ingram), on July 7, 2014 at her residence of 5 years, Kennebec Manor in Saint John, N.B., after a lengthy illness. Born in Saint John, NB on April 29, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Captain Arthur E. Ingram and late Doris Ingram (Burgess). She will be sadly missed by her children, D. Mark Hannah (Alison) and Deborah C. Hannah (Steve Niddery), her three grandchildren, D. Ryan Hannah (Kara Doiron), Alex Hannah, and Sarah Hannah, her great-grand child, D. Oliver Hannah, her two sisters, Wendy Hartin of Saint John and Norma Cosman (Doug) of Halifax, and by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, David Clifford Hannah of 63 years, brothers David Ingram (Mary) of Boston, Edward Ingram (Gloria) of Ottawa, and sister, Peggy Wood (Bill) Saint John. A lifelong learner, she was also a former member of the St. John Ambulance (Women’s Division) as well as the Superintendent of the St. John Ambulance Cadet Division in the 1950s. Following several years with the Bank of Nova Scotia, Charlotte St. Branch, Patricia was Centre Secretary for the Canadian Red Cross, Blood Transfusion Service in the 1970s. Beginning in 1975 she was an active member of the Monroe Institute of Educational Programs and Research. We thank the staff at Kennebec Manor for the warm, loving and great care you gave our mother, making her last years peaceful, comfortable and with laughter. We welcome you to join us at a visitation to celebrate our mother’s life at Brenan’s Funeral Home at 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), on Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 1pm – 5pm. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be planned for late August at a location to be later announced. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Kennebec Manor, Saint John, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
