Obituary of Romeo Joseph Hachey

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Romeo Joseph Hachey, loving husband to Marguerite Hachey, announce his passing which occurred on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born on August 30, 1944 in Bathurst, NB, a son of late Robert (Mary Ann LeClair) and Emelia Boudreau. Romeo was a mason, working for many different companies in the city. He was a member of the Bricklayers & Allied Craft Workers Local 8 NB and retired in 1999. Romeo was a natural at building things and working with hands, anything with carpentry to building barbeques. He enjoyed the game of golf, belonged to a bowling league and collected an endless amount of trophies. Romeo was a dog lover, and enjoyed the company of his latest dog, Sammy. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Romeo is survived by his wife, Marguerite, his daughters: Faye Hachey (Craig Ward), Lisa Matchett (Gerry Wallace) and Laurinda (Barry) Chaisson, his son Christopher Hachey, step sons: Todd, James and Roland Mullin, his grandchildren: Stephanie, Kyle, Kaitlynn, Devn, Jessica, Alison, Hayley, Sarah and Johnathan, his great grandchildren: Kaydin, Ryder, Blaire, Karter, Abel and Melody, his sisters: Violet, Emelda, Margaret, Stella, and Laurinda, his brothers: Eddie and Delphus along with many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Romeo is predeceased by his brother, Lionel and sister, Emily. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424) with visitation being held on Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A memorial service will take place on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 10:00 AM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to A Living Memorial, the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
