Obituary of Kathleen Susan Curwin

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a beautiful woman, Kathleen Susan Curwin, whom God called home with open arms on September 19th, 2014. Kathy will be dearly missed by her husband, best friend and soul mate, Paul Curwin. They had shared 35 glorious years of marriage together filled with loving memories and never ending love. Kathy was born September 25th, 1958 in Moncton, N.B. to parents Lawrence Kelly and Jacqueline Kelly. Kathy had selflessly helped so many people through her work as an Accountant and Financial Advisor with many companies over the years until recently retiring from her position with Desjardins Financial. Her success came from helping others succeed. She touched the lives and saved so many of our underprivileged youth in the community through countless days spent volunteering with a cause near and dear to both her and Paul’s heart, The Joshua Group. She was an outstanding member of the Rothesay Kings Rotary and most recently received a phenomenal award of being named CTV’s Maritime Volunteer of the Week on February 13th, 2013. Kathy had a tremendous love for life, her family and her Faith. Paul and Kathy have a love like no other and have made so many fabulous memories over the years. She loved being on the water, from boating down the Belleisle Bay on "Fundy Girl" to the many cruise ship vacations spent with the love of her life. She was the most caring, passionate and dedicated woman to grace our lives. She touched so many people in countless ways and anyone who had the opportunity to know her is truly blessed. Kathy will be forever missed by her three children who adored her, Jason, Joshua (Katy) and Jennifer. She was also blessed with two beautiful grandchildren, Dominic and Colin, whom she loved more than the sky and the sun and the moon. Their Nana will be in their hearts forever guiding them on a gentle path through life. Kathy is survived by brothers Larry (Shirley) and Peter (Blossom), sisters Colleen, Karen and Krista (Matthieu), many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members and two special people with whom she and Paul had such a strong bond, Kathy and Rheal Guimond. She was predeceased by her guardian angel, maternal grandmother Yvonne Bourgeois, loving maternal grandfather Emery Bourgeois, paternal grandparents Marion Kelly and John Kelly, father-in-law Donald Curwin and mother-in-law Joy Curwin. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Visitation will take place Monday September 22nd from 2-4pm and 6-8pm and Tuesday September 23rd from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral service will be held at the Living Faith Church, 67B Marr Road, Rothesay on Wednesday, September 24th at 12:00 noon. A reception will follow at St. James the Less Church, 1760 Rothesay Road. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting any donations be made to the Joshua Group. Kathy is a gracious child of God and held her family at the Living Faith Church very close to her heart. Her Faith and love of the Lord is so strong and with that gives us peace in our hearts that she is now spending eternal life with the Lord. Until we meet again.
