Obituary of Florence Margaret Ward

"Peggy" – Florence Margaret Ward, passed away on June 15th, 2014 at Embassy Hall, Shannex. Born on June 2, 1920 in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Myrtle (Waddell) Dobbin. Peggy loved the outdoors and New Brunswick. Her hobbies included bird watching, which she loved to share her knowledge. Skating and cross country skiing on her beloved Kennebecasis River and Sears Lake, in which she was still doing right up until 2008. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Marjorie Ward and Paul Johnston, granddaughter Dawn-Marie and Cliff Topolinsky, great granddaughter Evynn; Son Peter and Pat Ward, granddaughters Paula and Sean Smith, great grandchildren Aaron and Lauren, Sara Ward and James Laughy, great grandson Johnny; Amy and Neil Power and great grandchildren Emily, Max, Abigail and Carly; Monique Ward and great granddaughter Jewel; her sister Joyce Norman of Calgary; along with several nieces and nephews around the world. Besides her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her husband Malcolm; sons Donnie and Doug and daughter in law Ellen; brothers Cedric, Gordon, Donald and Bob; sisters Helen Mersereau, Hilda Folkins and Grace Richards. The family would like to thank the staff of Embassy Hall for their wonderful care over the past 4 years. Peggy was their first client and we were very fortunate for her to be in such a great caring facility. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Service to be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church Rothesay, June 25th at 2pm. Those wishing to make a donation in Peggy’s memory, may do so to the Children’s Wish Foundation or the IWK.
