Obituary of Deanna Mae Cairns

It is with great sadness the family of Dee Dee Cairns announce her passing, which occurred on October 21, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in St. Martins on September 12, 1947, she was a daughter of the late John and Edith (Yeomans) Cairns. Dee Dee took great pleasure in doing puzzles, playing computer games, Bingo and taking a chance on scratch tickets. She also was sure to keep close track of her grandchildren. She will be missed by her children; Frances Maxwell (Stephen) of Garnett Settlement, Edithann Smith (Ken Akerley) of Riverview, Bonnie Freake of Saint John, and Bill Freake of Saint John; her grandchildren, Stephanie Tibbetts (Wayne) of Fort MacMuray, AB, Cassie Pitre (Nick) of Saint John, Christopher Freake of Saint John, and Konnor and Tayler Akerly of Riverview; great grandchildren, Calvin Maxwell, Jessi and Josh Tibbets and Parker Pitre; her siblings, John Cairns (Gene) of Willow Grove, Shirley Beck (the late Doug) of Rexton, Barb Sweet (the late Clifford), Jackie Lambert (the late Robert), Pat Perry (Don) and Val Cairns (Bob Williams) all of Saint John; as well as many nieces nephews and extended family. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 2-8 pm. A celebration of Dee Dee’s life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11:30 am from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society, New Brunswick Lung Association, Lion’s Kids with Cancer or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
