Obituary of Gordon Arthur Almon

After a period of failing health, Tim Almon of St. Martins, husband of the late Blanche (Mannett) Almon, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Tim was born in Saint John on April 5, 1938, he was a son of the late Gordon and Mary (Hetherington) Almon in Saint John. Prior to his retirement, Tim was employed for 50 years with R.E. & J.E. Friars as a trucker. He is survived by three sons: Terry, Tim (Trudy), and Brent, all of St. Martins; four daughters: Rhonda (Stephen) Foster and Laura (George) Ferguson of St. Martins and Tammy Almon (Duke) and Darlene (Shane) Marks of Saint John; brother Hugh (Rita) Almon of Barnesville; three sisters: Ruth Osmond, Mona Cathline, and Jean Buchanan, all of Saint John. Tim was predeceased by his parents and his wife. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Visiting will be on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, St. Martins, NB, with the funeral being celebrated on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM, from the church. Interment will take place in Mosher Hill Cemetery, St. Martins, NB. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Oncology Unit, Canadian Cancer Society or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
