Obituary of Eunice Madeline Ritchie

Ritchie, Eunice Madeline … It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Eunice Madeline Ritchie of Saint John, NB on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the Kennebec Manor Nursing Home with her family at her side. Born in Digby, NS on August 7, 1923 she was a daughter of the late Harold and Haddie (Lightfoot) VanTassell. She is survived by a son, Eric Ritchie of Saint John; a daughter, Twyla Hartt of Albany, PEI; two brothers, John (Margaret VanTassell and Walter VanTassell, both of Saint John; seven grandchildren, Tommy, Donald, Margot and Nancy Hartt, John Ritchie, Stephanie Ritchie (Larry Gaudet) and Angela (Robert) Cornfield; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, George and two sisters, Alma Scoggins and Verna McBurney. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. There will not be any visiting or funeral service. Interment will be in Fernhill Cemetery on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 3:00 pm.
