Obituary of Mary Helen Allen

The death of Mary Helen Allen, of Saint John, NB wife of the late Charles Allen, occurred on Friday, January 22, 2010 at the Church of St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Andre and Dora (Mehiluck) Hartt. Mary was employed at Brooke Bond for many years as a general office worker and Dora Hartts Bakery on Main Street North for 20 years. Survived by her twin daughters, Donna McCaig (Douglas) and Eileen Allen, of Saint John; sons, Fred Allen (Barb Munn) and Gary Allen of Saint John; grandchildren, Lana McCullough (Orvil), Debbie Sleigh (Austin), Christa Barton (Scott), Tracey Allen, Pam Allen, Mark Morrell; great grandchildren, Declan Allen, Darian Allen, Brock, Jordan and Shelby McCullough, Shannen, Devin and Colin Sleigh, Matthew Morrell, Mia and Madelyn Barton; nephews, Andrew Hartt of Mass. USA, Darhl Hartt of Saint John, Stephen G. Hartt of Toronto, ON, Nicholas Hartt of Lynn, Mass., and their children. She was predeceased by granddaughter, Katherine Mary Allen; brothers, Stephen, Frederick and Nicholas Hartt. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Monday from 7 … 9 PM and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Church, 50 Clarendon Street, Saint John on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Greater Saint John, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
