Obituary of Shirley A. Bourque

The death of Shirley Alma Bourque of Saint John, NB, wife of Gary Vautour, occurred on January 7, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, on September 9, 1953, she was a daughter of Hazel (Marshall) and the late Glendon Guthrie. Shirley was an accountant for many years at Woodhouse Furniture. She was the President and head of maintenance at Wright Street CO-OP. Shirley enjoyed gardening, genealogy and knitting. Shirley had a wonderful sense of humour. Besides her husband, Gary, she is survived by her mother, Hazel Guthrie; sons, Gene (Lori) of St. Martin’s, NB, Paul (Autumn) of Calgary, AB; daughter, Crystal Dawn Raynes (Mark) of Saint John; sisters, Bonnie Guthrie (John), Judy Savoie (Raymond), Jean Roy (Ron) all of Saint John, Ruth Du John (Paul) of Hampton; brothers, Clifford (Cami) and Brian, both of Saint John; grandchildren, Devon, Dylan and Lily Daisy, Addison; aunt, Stella Redstone; sister-in-law, Barb Guthrie of Saint John; several nieces and nephews and special friend Carolanne Ferris. Shirley was predeceased by her brother, Jim Guthrie and grandmother, Margaret Reid. Resting at Brenan’s Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Saturday, January 9, 2010 from 7-9 pm and Sunday, January 10, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 2:00 pm from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment to take place at a later date at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
