Obituary of Ruth Elizabeth Stackhouse

Surrounded by her family, the passing of Ruth Stackhouse occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, November 14, 2009. She was the wife of the late Lester Stackhouse. She was born on March 2, 1923 in Silver Beach, NB to the late John Issac E. Hetherington and Beatrice L. Green. Ruth is survived by her son, Laurie of Saint John; daughter-in-law, Nadine Stackhouse of Saint John; two grandchildren, Glen and Greg (JoAnne) Stackhouse; four great grandchildren, Brittany, Connor, Jonathan and Julianne. Besides her husband and parents, Ruth was predeceased by her son Gary and brother, John Hetherington. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in St. Andrews Rural Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Animal Rescue League or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation.
