Obituary of Mary Eleanor Larsen

The death of Mary Eleanor “Suzie” Larsen, wife of the late Eldon Charles Larsen, occurred at Golden Plough Lodge, Cobourg, ON on Saturday, February 13, 2010. She was born November 1, 1923 at Saint John to the late N. Wilfred and Mary Frances (Boyce) Doyle, and was a 50 year resident of Indiantown (Saint John North) before moving to Ontario. Mary Eleanor was well known in the North End as a tireless volunteer; her van was always available to transport people, and she found great purpose in helping those in need. She was a member of St. Peter’s Parish when she lived in Saint John. She is survived by two sons: Thomas (Lorenda) of Saint John and Steven (Arlene) of Grand Bay-Westfield; three brothers: Raymond (Mary) of Saint John, Beverly (Marie) of Fredericton and Arthur of Ontario; six sisters: Josephine McNeil of Cobourg, ON, Gerarda Doyle and Audrey Doyle both of Toronto, ON, Sarah Peacock of Florida, Anita Powell of Ottawa, ON and Janey McGinnis of Cobourg, ON; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Eleanor was predeceased by her son, Charlie Christian Larsen and brothers, Kenneth and Stanley. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Church, 51 Clarendon Street on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
