Obituary of Robert Wayne Dickison

Robert Wayne Dickison of Saint John, husband of Darlene E. (Graves) Dickison, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John on September 29, 1949, he was a son of the late Stanley and Edith (Galley) Dickison. Bob was very involved in his community and his church. As the Community Housing Supervisor for The Salvation Army, Bob touched many lives. He was The Salvation Army Representative for the Mental Health Court, member of the Canadian Mental Health Association, and was involved in many mental health causes, including Skate to Care and MindCare New Brunswick. Bob was also involved with The Salvation Army Emergency Operations and Operation Jack Frost, and enjoyed camping at the Salvation Army Camp. An active member of the R.A.O.B, Bob also enjoyed watching the Saint John Sea Dogs, being a season ticket holder. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his children, Tom Graves (Julie) of Quispamsis, Cindy Dickison (Russell) of Saint John, and William Dickison (Cheyanne) of Saint John; his special nephew, Robert Buckley (Deborah) of Saint John; grandchildren Emilee, Josh, Jake, Jared, Cayden, Griffen, Ashton, Megan, Hannah, Matthew, and Cady; his siblings, Edith Verner, Gordon Dickison, Marilyn Lavoie (Marcel), Jackie Verner (Frank), Mary Dickison, Lois Martin, Barbara Dickison, Albert Dickison (Noël), and Carol Dickison (Mike), all of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by sons Raymond and Robert Jr.; by brothers Stanley Dickison and Albert Dickison; and by a sister, Joanie Dickison. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 11:30 AM from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Booth Residential Services of The Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
