Obituary of Timothy George Clayton

The unexpected passing of Tim Clayton, husband of Joanne (Clark) Clayton, occurred at their residence on Saturday, October 24, 2009. He was born on August 10, 1959 at Saint John to Blanche (MacDonald) and the late Donald Clayton. Tim worked with Diamond Taxi for many years. He was a member of the City and District Dart League and past member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #53, Jervis Bay. Tim was an avid hunter and fisherman and a life long Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays and NASCAR fan (especially Jimmie Johnson #48). He also enjoyed his many Saturday night card games. Besides his wife of 29 years, Tim is survived by three sons: Christopher of Saint John, Jeffrey of Dawson Creek, BC and Joshua of Pembroke, ON; four brothers: Jack, Rick (Susan), Gary, and Ron (Shelley) Clayton; three sisters: Nancy Campbell (Lyle), Donalda Gillis, and Heather Clarke (Brian) and several aunts, uncles and cousins, nieces and nephews, including a special greatniece Alexus. Tim was predeceased by his father and special mother-in-law, Jean Clark. He will be sadly missed by all especially his feline friends: Gus and “his little girl” Whiskers. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 11:30 am. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. A reception at Brenan’s Reception Centre will follow the interment. For those who wish, remembrances to the Animal Rescue League or East Side Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
