Obituary of Jean Rose Gilliland

Gilliland, Jean Rose … The death of Jean Rose Gilliland of Saint John, NB, wife of the late James L. Gilliland, occurred on Friday, June 5, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on April 13, 1945, she was a daughter of the late John and Helena (LeBlanc) Connell. Jean was employed with NBTel/Aliant for many years before retiring with a disability. She loved to play Bingo and play with her grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Gilliland and Rosa Duplessis (Francis) of Saint John; one sister, Mary Cheri Allan “Sisie”; three grandchildren, Jessy and Corey MacPherson and Brent Duplessis; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and her good friend, Joan Sullivan. Predeceased by her husband, James Leonard Gilliland (1989); two sisters, Carrie Gilliland and Doris Gallant. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. There will not be any visiting at the funeral home and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2009 from Brenan’s Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Remembrances may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or any charity of choice. www.brenansfh.com
