Obituary of Mary "Nancy" Monzerolle

Surrounded by her ten daughters in a circle of love, the death of Nancy Monzerolle, wife of the late Martin Monzerolle, went to her eternal rest on Tuesday, June 16, 2009. She was born on May 4, 1919 at Pokemouche, NB to the late Richard and Lydia (Ferguson) Burbridge. Nancy was a gifted seamstress who could take material and turn it into a beautiful dress, coat or wedding gown. She will always be remembered for her beautiful quilts which she loved to share with family and friends. Nancy was always ready for a game of cards and she loved to work in her flower garden. She was a member of Club Arc En Ciel. Nancy is survived by her ten loving daughters: Emma Lanteigne, Yvette Carroll (Steve), Florence Hatfield, Rose Roy, Blanche Stevens (Charles), Ella Janes (Doug), Alice Murray (Dave), Jackie Arseneault, Irene Barton (Ken) and Annette Fitzgerald (Paul); daughter-in-law, Anita Monzerolle; five siblings: Ella Robichaud, Margaret Noel, Martha Smythe, Rita Savoy and Edward Burbridge (Penny); 34 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Nancy was predeceased by her son: Edward; grandson, René Arseneault; three sons-in-law: Joe Lanteigne, Jerry Hatfield and John Roy and 13 brothers and sisters. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Pius X Church, 316 Somerset Street on Friday, June 19, 2009 at 11am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Children’s Wish Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
