Obituary of Donald Henry Archer

Archer, Donald “Don” Henry … Surrounded by his family, Don Archer passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph’s Hospital on February 14, 2009. He was born on August 15, 1926 in Saint John to the late Harry and Dorothy (Bell) Archer. Don worked for Marine Atlantic as a Stewart and Bar Tender until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and bowler, bowling at the Saint John Bowlarama. Don was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Wayne (Frances) Archer of Rothesay; one brother Douglas (Dora) of Saint John; one sister, Betty Arsenault of Moncton and one grandson, Christopher Archer. Besides his parents, Don was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Flewelling) Archer; a son, Kenneth and three brothers: Gordon Kenneth and Robert. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). At Don’s request there will be no traditional visitation, however friends are welcome to attend a memorial service to be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Main Street Baptist Church at 4:00 PM.
