Obituary of Arlene Juliette Jones

After a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family, the passing of Arlene Jones occurred at her residence on Saturday, March 28, 2009. She was born on November 4, 1952 in Fredericton, NB to Perry and Viola (Munn) Jones. Arlene worked as a hair stylist and for the NB Liquor Corporation, before she retired due to her illness. Besides her loving parents, Perry and Viola, Arlene is survived by two sons: Sandy McLeod (Arlene) and Michael McLeod both of Saint John, NB; one brother: Marcus (Bonnie) Jones of Saint John, NB; granddaughter, Carrie McLeod; two nephews: Matthew and Clark Jones; life long friend, Brenda Spencer (Eric MacFarlane) of Nerepis, NB and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased her infant brother, Clark Jones. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Monday from 7-9 pm and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Main Street Baptist Church, 211 Main Street, Saint John on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 1 pm. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Children’s Wish Foundation.
