Obituary of Frances M. Herrington

The death of Mrs. Frances M. Herrington of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home, Saint John, NB, formally of McNamara Drive, Lakewood Heights, wife of the late, Elmer E. Herrington, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born in Quispamsis, NB she was a daughter of the late, David A. and Estella F. (Marr) Haworth. She graduated from Rothesay Consolidated School and received the Governor General Medal for High Standing. She then received her N.B. Teachers License from the Provincial Normal School and later attended Mount Allison University. She retired from the teaching staff at Princess Ann School in 1975 and has previously taught at the Winter Street School and Rothesay Elementary School. She was a member of St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, Quispamsis, before moving to Lakewood Heights, where she became a member of St. James Anglican Church. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Surviving are two sisters, Elise Chamberlain (Donald) of Lakewood Heights, Saint John, and Eloise Harding (Vernon) of Fredericton, NB, as well as several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (506-634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday from 2 … 4 and 7 … 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from St. James Anglican Church, Lakewood Heights, Saint John on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A reception will follow at the church. Remembrances may be made to St. James Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
