Obituary of Frances I. Murphy

The death of Frances Isabelle Murphy of 4 Steve’s Lane, Lower Greenwich, Kings County, wife of James Bernard “Bernie” Murphy, husband of 60 years, occurred on Thursday January 25, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family and after a courageous battle with Leukemia. Born at Chatham, NB she was the daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth (Vienneau) Wilt. Frances was employed with Sears Canada for many years before her retirement and was a long time member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Saint John. She is survived by her husband, her son Ken and his wife Tanya of Saint John and their children Morgan and Nicholas, her daughter Beth and her husband Rob Bailey of Browns Flat, and their children Tara, Katelin and Joshua, her brother Stafford Wilt of Blenham, Ontario, and her sister Dorothy McCormick of Saint John. She was predeceased by her son Jamie Murphy, her brothers Harry, Herbie and Fred Wilt and her sisters Mary Totten, Vern Johnston, Lillian Walsh and Jean Russell. The family wishes to extend thanks to the staff of 5CN and Palliative Care along with Dr. William Irving and Dr. Dolan. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424 with visitation on Sunday, January 28 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held from St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Main Street, Saint John on Monday January 29, 2007 with service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
