Obituary of Gabriel Alexander Comeau

With heavy hearts we say au revoir to Gabriel Alexander Comeau, precious son, gift of God, brother, grandson, nephew and friend. Gabe, our sweet baby boy, born August 18, 2001 on a beautiful summer day in Moncton, NB was welcomed with great joy by, Mom and Dad, Stephanie (Hallworth) and Robert and big brothers Nathaniel and Nicholas. The joy this boy brought to our family cannot be expressed on paper. He was a light to all as he grew and became involved in activities in the community of Quispamsis. Gabe was always the smallest at everything yet it never stopped him. Whether it was playing ball or violin, riding his bike, or shooting his bow, size didn't matter. His quirky little grin and the twinkle in his eye brought a smile to everyone he met. Gabe joined air Cadets when he turned 12, after watching his brothers participate for five years. The three brothers played together in the top award-winning NB/PEI band competition. Gabe enjoyed the cadet program but most of all, the friends he made there. Gabriel's real passion was the outdoors as he'd get up at 3AM to go salmon fishing on the Miramichi with his dad. Gabe threw a line most men envied and he caught his first salmon two summers ago. He loved the woods almost as much as the river and would sit for hours in the hunting blind with his dad. He excelled at the Hunter's Safety Course and looked forward to being a licensed hunter. This spring, Gabe had an amazing trip with his dad to see a Canadiens playoffs game (Go Habs Go!). What joy Gabe brought to Rob as they shared this passion for the game. Gabriel is survived by Mom, Dad, Nat and Nick, as well as grandparents, Alice and Fred MacLeod, Alice and Fernand Comeau, Harry and Ann Hallworth, aunts and uncles, Jeremy and Donna Hallworth, Denise and Alistair Bullock, Rod and Jacqui Comeau, Fernand Comeau and Oscar Andrade, Bonnie Riley, Heather MacLeod, Michael Hallworth, and Matthew Hallworth. He has thirteen cousins that will miss him dearly, and many great aunts and great uncles, that loved him fiercely. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Wednesday and Thursday from 2 - 8 PM. Celebration of Gabe's life will be held at Ecole Samuel de Champlain, 67 Ragged Point Road, Saint John, on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 1:00 PM. Remembrances may be made to 161 CK Beveridge Squadron or to the Sweet Caroline Foundation. Until Eternity sweet boy. What joy to be in the presence of God. Meet us by Heaven's Gate with that beautiful grin.
