Obituary of Florence W. London
The death of Florence W. London, formerly of 55 Magazine Street, Saint John, wife of the late Gilbert F. London, occurred on Tuesday, January 21, 2003, at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Katherine (Upton) Dunham. Mrs. London was an active member of St. Paul's (Valley) Anglican Church, being involved with the choir and the needlework society. She was a former member of St. Andrews Curling Club and served as past president of St. Andrews Ladies Curling Club and the New Brunswick Ladies Curling Association. Florence was formerly active with the I.O.D.E., and was made a life member of the Saint John Municipal Chapter and a life member of the Dr. William F. Roberts Chapter and served as Municipal Regent. She was a life member of the YWCA and a former member of the Union Club and the Riverside Golf and Country Club. She is survived by her niece, Lynn Golding and her husband, Rev. James Golding and other nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by five brothers and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at St. Paul's (Valley) Anglican Church, on Friday, January 24, 2003, at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery.
