Obituary of Joseph Elzear Paulin

PAULIN, Joseph Elzear ? The death of Joseph E. Paulin, husband of Patricia (Chiasson) Paulin, of Saint John, NB, occurred on Sunday, February 13, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Bas Caraquet, NB on February 14, 1924 a son of the late Theotime and Emily (Albert) Paulin. Joseph was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 64 and a Veteran of World War II having served with the Cape Breton Highlanders and Carleton York Regiment and was wounded in Italy in 1944. Joseph was a carpenter and contractor by trade. Besides his wife of 58 years he is survived by four sons, Gaston (Donna), Wildwood, GA., Jacques, Bangkok, Thailand, Rene (Gao) United Arab Emerites, Timothy (Martha), Saint John; five daughters, Paulette Paulin, Toronto, ON, Cathy Paulin, Andrea (Lawrence) Brooks, Lorraine Paulin (Wendy Gamache) and Martina (Philip) Blackmore, all of Saint John; six grandchildren, Lise (Michael) Brooks-Rowe, Saint John, Donald and Jamie Logan, Halifax, NS, Michael and Michelle Paulin and Claire Blackmore, Saint John, one brother, Francois of Montreal; three sisters, Albertine LeJeune, Saint John, Armantine (Gerald) Chiasson, Saint John and Doris Chiasson, Bas Caraquet and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by infant son, Theotime; sister, Priscille LeBouthillier; brothers, Augustin and Martin Paulin. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Pius X Church, Somerset St., Saint John on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at 11 am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
