Obituary of Dorothy A. McKay

The death of Dorothy Agnes McKay, of 117 Somerset Street, Saint John, wife of the late Police Chief Harry McKay, occurred on Sunday, November 7, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of the late William James and Kate (Carlin) Earle. Mrs. McKay enjoyed her home and her love of flowers made her an avid gardener. In her younger years, she and her husband Harry enjoyed traveling to various Police functions and Conventions. She will be sadly missed. She is survived by her children, Douglas McKay (Mary) and Shirley McPhee (Wally), both of Saint John, one sister, Dora Neilson of Oromocto, three grandchildren, Cindy Patstone (Chris), Lori Burley (Curtis) and Brad Beach, four great grandchildren, one “special niece” Mary Earle and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one daughter, Barbara Keating in 1990 and one brother, Bill Earle. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday 7-9 PM and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at 1:00 PM. Interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
