Obituary of Francis D. Leaver

The death of Francis D. “Frank” Leaver of Prince of Wales Road, Saint John, occurred on Thursday, October 14, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on July 26, 1931, he was the son of the late Alice Boutler and step-father Clary Boutler. Francis was the loving husband of Frances Leaver (nee Bowes). Francis was a member of the ILA Local #273 and worked as a longshoreman for 35 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Ron Edison (Marie), two daughters, Lorna Truan (Walter) and Judy Jolie (Bill), five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday 7-9 PM and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 18, 2004 at 1:00 PM. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would be appreciated.
