Obituary of Glendon Ronald Godwin

The death of Glendon “Glen” Godwin of Saint John, NB, occurred on Friday, October 8, 2004 at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing, Saint John, following a lengthy illness. Glen will be sadly missed by his wife of more than 50 years, Jane (Blacklock). Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Francis and Alma (Campbell) Godwin. He served with the Canadian Armed Forces during World War II. Glen worked for many years as a salesperson for Canada Life, Diversey and Guilfords. Always making people laugh, Glen also loved the outdoors, camping and fishing with his family. He was a long serving member and Past Worshipful Master of the St. Martins Masonic Lodge No.30 and an active member of St. James Church, Lakewood. Survived by two sons, Bradley (Carolyn) of South Bay, NB and Kevin (Alison) of Riverview, NB; one daughter, Paulette of Quispamsis, NB; sister-in-law, Patricia (Bruce) Kearney; six grandchildren, Colin, Jocelyn, Rachel, Daniel, Nick and Andrew Glendon; one great-granddaughter, Adriana; cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by three brothers, Douglas, Leonard and James Godwin; three sisters, Connie Carlson, Babe Steele and Edith Godwin. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday, October 11, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. and a Masonic Tribute Service at 6:30 pm. Funeral Service will be held from St. James Anglican Church, Lakewood, NB on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 2 pm. Interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
