Obituary of Leo Antoine Guitard

The death of Leo Guitard of Sydney St., occurred peacefully on February 25, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Leo was the son of the late Norman and Philomene (Cormier) Guitard. Leo served overseas in World War II and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #64. Leo worked at the Turnbull Nursing Home, for several years, until his retirement. He was an active member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Leo is survived by four sisters Christine, Madeline, Victorine and Dorina and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Leo was predeceased by his loving companion of many years Jane Harper; three brothers Telesphore, Wilbur, and Theodore and one sister Delia. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row Saint John, NB 634-7424. With visitation on Saturday 7-9 pm and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Monday February 28, 2005 at 12 Noon. A Royal Canadian Legion Service will be held on Sunday at 7:30 pm during visitation. Interment will follow the mass at St. Joseph's Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick and the Saint John Kidney Foundation.
