Obituary of Phyllis Doreen Jacquard

Phyllis Doreen Jacquard, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Phyllis dedicated her life to her family and her 25 years of work at the West Side K-Mart. She enjoyed family get-togethers, music, bingo and moon lit nights at Saints Rest Beach. Her lengthy stay at the Saint John Regional Hospital was made comfortable with the wonderful care she received from the Nurses and staff of 5C South and the RT's. Special thanks to Dr. Vaughn Smith, Dr. Annemarie Allart, Dr. Katri and Rev. Doug McNeill, Pastor St. Pius X Church, for leading Phyllis and her family with bedside prayers. After 50 years of marriage, Phyllis leaves behind her husband, Edmond, four sons, Michael (Sharon), Terry (Margaret), John and Wayne (Gina), one daughter, Dale Stevenson (Brian), all of Saint John, grandchildren, Danielle, Cory, Ashley, Sarah, Jillian, Cindy and Shyla, one great grandson, Zachery, brothers, Danny Smith (Dawn), Wally Smith (Dudur), Raymond Smith (Hilda), Donnie Smith (Ruth), David Smith (Carolyn), James Smith (Rena) all of Saint John and Gordon Smith (Jennie) of Lower Millstream, sisters, Carol Stere (Orval) of Ontario, Betty Driscoll of Saint John and Emma Horgan of Ontario, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Edna Smith, one brother, Leonard Smith and one sister, Doris McGaghey. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday 7-9 PM and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, Somerset Street, Saint John on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery, followed by a reception at St. Pius X church hall. Remembrances to the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated.
