Obituary of Helen Lucinda Kidd

The death of Cindy Kidd, of Lower Sackville, NS, occurred on December 28, 2004, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of Lois K. (Wilson) and the late John D. (Jack) Kidd. To have one friend in a lifetime is a blessing and Cindy had many blessings both in friendship and opportunities throughout her life. She was the first female CBC radio technician and the first female camera person East of Montreal. She was Program Director for Shaw Cable for 18 years and went on to run her own business. She was a member of St. Mark's United Church in Saint John and Knox United Church in Lower Sackville, NS. She was involved with the Royal Canadian Legion, Bedford, NS, the Friends of Scotia Nursing Home, Knox Outreach, and the Canadian Cancer Society. She enjoyed boating and camping, photography and her time spent reading. Besides her mother Lois she is survived by her partner Frederick G. (Fred) Owens, her brother Chris Kidd of Saint John, her uncle Gordon Wilson and her five cousins. Her uncle Jack Wilson and his wife Doris and her aunts Mary MacDonald and Beatrice Wilson predeceased her. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (506) 634-7424, Saint John, NB, with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Following cremation the funeral service will be held on Friday, December, 31, 2004, at 2:00 PM, from St. Mark's United Church. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at 1:00 PM, at Knox United Church, Lower Sackville, NS. Remembrances may be made to Cindy's favorite charities; The Greater Saint John Community Foundation ? The Kidd Family- Saint John Boys and Girls Club Fund, in New Brunswick, or the Friends of Scotia Nursing Home Residents Society, in Nova Scotia, would be appreciated.
