Obituary of Janice Louisa Hale

It is with great sadness the family of Janice Louisa Hale announce her passing, which occurred on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on February 4, 1961 in Moncton, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of James "Laurie" and Gwendolyn (Abbott) Hale. In Janice’s youth she spent some time in the Canadian Reserves. In her later years she participated in the Coldest Night in the Year fundraiser, raising awareness and money for those at risk in her community. She also recently started volunteering at the Boys and Girls club working with a lunch program for kids. Janice participated in the Relay for Life for the Canadian Cancer Society. She also regularly volunteered at her church over the years. Janice had a humble heart full of giving. Janice was a true friend to those blessed enough to share in her life. A selfless mother who wanted only happiness for her children. She had an easy and genuine smile for the world in a time when smiles aren't necessarily easy to come by. For those that knew her thank you for enriching her life as I'm sure she enriched yours. Aside from her parents, she is survived by her children Ben (Eva) Hale and Katherine Hale; brother Jim (Christine) Hale; grandchildren Nathan, Jensen, Jacob and Della; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 12:00 PM. For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Janice may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of NB.
