Obituary of Norma Margaret Fales

Passed away at the Church of St. John and Stephen Home on September 10, 2016. She was born on December 23, 1915, daughter of the late Harry Allison Bartlett Fales and Viola May Barton. Norma was a lifelong resident of the South End. She graduated from Saint John High School in 1933. During WWII, she served with the RCAF in Toronto and Moncton. Upon returning to Saint John, she went to work at the Imperial Life Assurance Company where she would remain until her retirement. She was also the last family member to own Frank Fales and Sons Limited. Norma loved to travel. She visited numerous counties throughout the world with her travel companions Gladys Bell (2004) and Bessie Longon (2003). She also volunteered at her church, Church of Saint John and St. Stephen and the Saint John Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Norma was predeceased by her brother John Barton Fales (1972) and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Her humour and positive attitude will be dearly missed by her adopted family, the Longons (Thomas, Carreen, Jeffrey and Jennifer). Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where a Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, September 14 at 11 AM from the Brenan’s Chapel, with interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Home or the Saint John Regional Hospital Auxiliary
