Obituary of Elizabeth Catherine Wrench

Edie Wrench and Nancy Williamson are saddened to announce the death of their sister Betty which occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on Thursday, October 20, 2016. Betty had a long career in the photography industry as a Darkroom Technician at first Climo’s and then Harvey’s Studios. She also worked at Rainbow Colour Lab for a short time. She was an expert knitter and enjoyed another pleasant career at the Wool Shop with Sally Robertson advertising knitters with wool choices and working with them to correct their knitting mistakes. Betty was a great gardener and she and her neighbour Rita Maguire had matching rhododendrons which bloomed profusely on either side of Swanton Street. Every spring she looked forward to picking out the flowers for the garden she had carefully planned for that summer. She was predeceased by her Mum and Dad, son Paul, brother John, sister Jean, and best friends and neighbours, Jo Forgey, Ruth Cavanaugh, and Rita Maguire. She loved her cats. Betty is survived by her sisters, Edie and Nancy, brother-in-law Byron Williamson, cousins David and Darlene Cunningham and their family, the Nisbet family in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, special friend Shelley Forgey, and her cat Sootie. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 11 am to 1:30 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2pm at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. A private family burial will take place at a later date. If desired, donations to Bobby’s Hospice or Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue would be greatly appreciated. She will be sorely missed.
