Obituary of Linda Marlene Higgins

It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Marlene (Latham) Higgins announces her passing on September 15, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Linda loved spending time with her close friends and family. Linda discovered Cuba and the Dominican but her favourite place was in Texas with her cousin and extended family. She loved trailering and recently enjoyed travelling over the last few years. She also fondly cherished the time she spent taking care of all the kids at Oak Point, who even as adults still lovingly refer to her as "Nan". Linda is survived by her daughters Karen (John Clarke), of Morrisdale; Debbie (Phil) Childs, of Hampton; sister Dot (Dave); grandchildren whom she cherished, Scott (Danyelle) and Regan (Randy); cousins Wendy (Price) Allmon, of Houston; Kristy (Joe) Socha and Kim (Vernon) Oliver, both also from Texas, and several other cousins; and dearest friends Paulette (Stan) Durnnian, Rox Black (Russ) and Pam (Dallas) Urquhart. She was predeceased by her amazing husband Det. Bill Higgins and her parents Theodore and Margurite (Northrup) Latham. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). As per Linda’s request there will be no visitation. A small immediate family celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA-Animal Rescue League or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB would be greatly appreciated by the family.
