Obituary of Shirley Louise Alexander

The death of Shirley Alexander of Saint John occurred on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Gordon Alexander and Muriel (Raynes) Bishop (John). Shirley enjoyed playing cards, bingo and video games with her family. Shirley is survived by her children, Joseph East (Melody), Gladys Day (Trevor) and Patricia Alexander (Joey); brother, Ricky Bishop; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her son in infancy, Johnny East and brother, Gordon Alexander. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 3:00 PM. Interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
