Obituary of Judith E. Watson

Watson, Judith Elizabeth – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Judith E. Watson announces her passing, which occurred on Monday, July 25, 2016 at her residence. Born in Halifax, NS on October 10, 1937, she was a daughter of the late George B. and E. Kathryn (Paterson) Watson. Judy and her family moved to Saint John in 1947, graduated from Saint John High School, attended Mount Allison University, then entered the Laboratory Technology course at the DVA in Saint John. In 1959 she moved to Montreal where she held a management position at Lakeshore General Hospital. In 1996, she returned to Saint John and resided in Kennebecasis Park. Judy was an avid golfer at both Summerlea Golf Course in Montreal and Riverside Golf and Country Club in Rothesay and enjoyed curling at Point Claire Curling Club, and bowling with a close group of friends. She spent quality time with friends at Tuesday night bridge club and Friday burger nights. Passionate about cruise ship vacations, Judy’s most memorable trip was a 22 day cruise on the Mediterranean. She also lovingly acted as curator and archivist for her mother’s beautiful original paintings. She will be missed by her brother, G. Barry Watson (Dellores); a niece, Kathy Watson-Legere; nephews, Duane Watson (Tish), Brian Watson (Natasha), Peter Watson (Alison) and Ian Christie; three great nieces and five great nephews who enjoyed Judy’s visits to the cottage on the Saint John River; a brother-in-law, Dr. John Christie (Martina); as well as her very dear friend, Gayle Kee. In addition to her parents, Judith was predeceased by a sister, M. Jane Christie. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). As per Judith’s request, friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service, which will take place on Saturday, August 20, at 10:00 am at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to SPCA-Animal Rescue or Regional Residential Services Society would be appreciated by the family.
