Obituary of Evalyne Doris Ricketts

Evalyne Doris Ricketts, widow of John Arthur Ricketts, passed away peacefully at Kennebec Manor on Monday, October 17, 2016. Born in Saint John, NB on February 7, 1928, she was the daughter of Dorothy Boddington (Grant) and Russell Boddington. Survived by daughters: Donna (Bob) Doyle of Saint John and Debra Ellen (Paul) Burke of Passekeag, sons: Charles (Janice) King of Saint John and Terry (Lori) Ricketts of Montreal, her sisters: Florence Gallant of Hampton, Anna Grant of Fredericton and Cassie Thompson of Florida along with several Grandchildren, great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her husband John, she was predeceased by her step-sons: John M. Ricketts and Bobby Ricketts. Evalyne enjoyed camping for many years at Pine Cone in Sussex with special dog Toby J. Evalyne was active in the Woman’s Auxillary for the War Amps and helping out many war amp champs. She enjoyed knitting hundreds of Izzy Dolls that were sent to Afghanistan for the soldiers to give to the children. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19 from 2-4 and 6-8. A Funeral Service will take place from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, October 20 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada, The Champs Program or to a charity of donor’s choice.
