Obituary of James L. Lynch

James L. Lynch of Saint John passed away on April 15, 2012, at Ridgewood Veterans Wing. Born on March 28, 1925, he was a son of the late Joseph Leo and Jennie Agnes (Doyle) Lynch. Jim served in World War II in the Merchant Marine, and loved to play the accordion, travelling throughout the Maritimes playing at dances and shows with his friend Ned Landry. He was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan, loved to talk and tell jokes, and especially loved the staff at Ridgewood Veterans Wing. He will be missed. Jim was the last surviving member of his immediate family, survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jim was pre-deceased by the love of his life, Frances, her daughter Sharon, sister Ann Marie Brown, brothers Charlie, Joseph, John, Tom and Barney, and his first wife, Evelyn. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Friday at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a "Tribute to a Veteran" service on Thursday at 7:00 pm.
