Obituary of Francis J. Maillet

The death of Francis Maillet, spouse of Gussie "Roxanne" Daigle, occurred on April 14, 2012 at home after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). He was born on Sept 18, 1947 in Fredericton. He is survived by his loving spouse, Gussie "Roxanne" Daigle; his mother, Orice Crossman; his children: Florida Lowe (Doug) and their children: Joshua and Josie Lowe; Clarence Maillet and his children, Travis Gagné, Robin and Catherine Maillet and Gavin LeBlanc; Guy Maillet (Shelly) and their children, Chelsey (Justin) and Jenna Maillet; Maryanne Deveau (Darren) and their children, Jessica Hawkins and Jarrod Deveau and his great grandson, Landon Pierce; the mother of his children, Jeanne Maillet; brothers: Perry Crossman (Susan), John Madore, Adrian Crossman (Cheryl) and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving are his step-children: Britt Nickerson (Cathy), Chris Smith and Andrea Nickerson and step-grandchildren; Timothy Daly, Robert (Stretch) Nickerson, Kelsey Nickerson, Isobelle Nickerson, Gwyneth Smith and Katelyn Kiffeh; brother-in-law, Britt MacLeod; nephews: Andrew, Jeffrey and Trevor MacLeod and grandnephew, Conor MacLeod. Francis was predeceased by his grandparents, Anthony and Phoebe (Chevarie) Maillet; step-father, Josiah Crossman and cousin, Germaine Maillet. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances to the ALS Society would be appreciated by the family. Funeral Write Up Maillet, Francis J. – The funeral of Francis Joseph (Clarence) Maillet of Saint John, spouse of Gussie "Roxanne" Daigle, was held on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel where Rev. Michael LeBlanc officiated the service. Organist, Terri Lynn Russell provided the music and special song, "In the Garden", was sung by Guy Maillet and Gerald Cormier. Readings were given by Carolyn Breau and Edward Maillet and the Eulogy was given by Doug Lowe. Active pallbearers were Travis Gagne, Guy Daigle, Britt Nickerson, Chris Smith, Britt MacLeod and Tim Daly. Honourary pallbearers were John Doyle, Perry Cosman, Richard Kenny, Robbie Nickerson, Doug Lowe and Darren Deveau. Many floral tributes were received by the family. Memorial and spiritual donations were made to ALS Society of New Brunswick; Bobby’s Hospice and Tabernacle United Baptist Church. Interment took place at Greenwood Cemetery and a time of remebrance and reflection followed at daughter-in-law, Andrea Nickerson’s home.
