Obituary of Dorothy M. Sherwood

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Dorothy M. Sherwood of Rothesay, NB, wife of Hazen Sherwood, which occurred on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on February 12, 1930 in Washademoak Lake, NB, she was a daughter of the late Ruben and Mae (Starkey) Smith. Dorothy loved to spend time at her summer home in Grand Lake. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, Hazen; four children, Linda Malcolm of Saint John; Edward (Gail) Malcolm of Quispamsis; Robert (Karen) Malcolm of Winnipeg, MB and Richard Malcolm and his friend, Bonnie of Saint John; several grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Hazen (Joan) Smith of Saint John; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one sister, Margaret and two brothers, Lloyd and Elmer. In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
