Obituary of Florence Marie Forsythe

Florence Forsythe passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the Loch Lomond Villa Nursing Home. She was born on March 18, 1926 at Holdfast, SA to the late Lawrence and Millie Durant. Florence was a full time mother early in her life. When her children were older she worked in housekeeping at the DVA and Saint John Regional Hospitals retiring as Department Head. She is survived by her son, Michael Haynes (Debbie) of Quispamsis; daughters: Carol McLeod and Barbara Whalen (Emery) both of Saint John, Joan Rice (Ron) of Charlottetown, PE, Lisa Melanson (Kevin) of Musquash and Cathy Craig (Paul) of Quispamsis; siblings: June Durant, Junior Durant, Olive Bryenton, Eleanor Durant, Clair Durant, Reginald Durant and Clifford Durant and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Florence was predeceased by her first husband Eric L. Haynes; second husband, Ernest M. Forsythe; infant daughter, Susan Haynes; brother, Donald Durant; sister, Christine MacLeod and son-in-law, George McLeod. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Although there will be no formal visitation, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 10 AM from Brenan’s Chapel. For those who wish, remembrances to the Joshua House would be appreciated by the family.
