Obituary of Dorothy A. Adams

The death of Dorothy A. Adams wife of the late Kier M. "Bucky" Adams of Craig Crest occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday February 16, 2011. She was born in Saint John and was a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Margaret (Thibodeau) McLeod. Dot is a life long resident of Saint John and was educated in local schools. She and her husband owned and operated several businesses during the 70’s including D and M Variety on Millidge Ave. D and M Variety in Glen Falls, Diamond Taxi, Luxury Fish and Chips. Joe’s Have A Snack and D and M Paving. Later Dot worked at the former General Hospital and the Saint John Regional Hospital. Dot loved ceramic and operated a ceramic Shop and taught ceramics. She is survived by her children, Mary Hines (Stan) of Martinon; Susan Adams of Fredericton; Brenda Mazerolle (Daniel) of Willow Grove; Debbie Dunn (Gerard) of Rothesay; Kierlyn Stevenson (Allan) of Saint John West; Kier Adams Jr. of Saint John; Wayne Adams (Brenda) and Joan Benoit (Roger) both of Saint John East; five sisters, Thelma McLeod (Norma Somers), Corine Gostick (Tom) both of Saint John East; Donna Bourque, Josephine McLeod both of Saint John; Margaret Grant (Ronald) Richmond Hill Ontario; six brothers, Robert and Norman McLeod, both of Saint John; Melvin McLeod (Theresa), Grand Bay – Westfield; Albert Malley (Claudette) Miramichi; Thomas McLeod (Sandra) Toronto Ontario; Allan McLeod (Lois) Hampton; two sisters in law, Anita Kelly (Wilfred) and Dorothy Adams both of Saint John; seventeen grandchildren; several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; Besides her husband she was predeceased by a sister, Annie Muxworthy; a grand daughter Erin Allaby and a daughter-in-law Bonnie. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday and Saturday, February 18 and 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Chapel on Sunday, February, 20, 2011 at 2 PM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date.
