Obituary of Michael Ronald Patriquen

Surrounded by his loving family, the peaceful passing of Michael, 57, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on June 22, 2011. He is survived by his mother, Ann (Callaghan) and (the late) Mel Patriquen; his son, Michael D. Patriquen; his daughter, Melana Patriquen, who was the light of his life; his sister Mary Jane Patriquen Shelley and her husband Mike and their children Catie, Casey and Shannon; his sister Kelly Patriquen and her daughter Karly; his granddaughter Faith; and by his devoted partner, Kim Schimmel. Also survived by Aunts and Uncles including Sr. Nora Kelly, Claire and Art McGuire, Mary Lou and Kevin Smith, Kay Callaghan (late David) and several cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Mel Patriquen, in 2005 and by grandparents Ronald and Agnes Callaghan and Walter and Jean Patriquen. Michael’s unconditional love and devotion to his family was unsurpassed. He has more than earned his eternal rest and words cannot express to what extent he will be missed. Private Funeral Mass has taken place. Heartfelt and sincere thanks to Dr. Chris O’Brien for making it possible for Michael to be cared for in his hometown, with his family by his side, and to the entire staff of Palliative Care for their compassion and wonderful care to our beloved Michael.
