Obituary of William R. Hawkes

Hawkes, William R. – The death of William "Bill" Rens Hawkes of Saint John, NB, occurred on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was a son of the late Charles and Anna (Mahaney) Hawkes. Bill was employed with C.N.R. and Saint John Shipbuilding until his retirement. He was a graduate from Saint John Vocational High School. He is survived by three daughters: Linda, Susan and Cindy; one sister, Holly Hawkes of Saint John; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by one sister, Doris Lee. To honour Bill’s request there will be no visiting or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
